Being a multi-processor multi-threaded system

I have a habit of over-analysing every part of my life including my being. Adding to other observations people have made, I have realised I am akin multi-processor multi-threaded system.

Multi-processor system

According to wikipedia, “multiprocessor is a computer system having two or more processing units (multiple processors) each sharing main memory and peripherals, in order to simultaneously process programs.”

In my context, this is akin to multi-tasking. While people say multi-tasking is a myth, I strongly disagree. Be it handling multiple projects at the same time or watching something while working, I kinda like it more than single processing. Unless the plot line of a show or movie is convoluted (read Game of Thrones) or has brilliant visual aids (read Sherlock), I never “just” watch a movie. It is always a background to while working, drawing or writing. This helps aiding my constant need to be “productive” and lowers the volume of my brain chatter.

Multi-threaded system

Our best friend Wiki defines a multi threaded system as “multithreading is the ability of a central processing unit to provide multiple threads of execution concurrently, supported by the operating system”.

Every process aka task in turn is multi threaded for me. This mostly translates thoughts. Every thought I have has multiple threads. Take for example - I am introducing a new idea to a friend, this is how my brain prepares for it - what are the possible ways the idea will be received and how to proceed for each of those cases. It can happen that the idea is received in a completely different way, which is okay, but whatever options I thought of, I usually have a plan of going forward. Even if the thought is a bad thought, I think through all options and usually associate an action with each thread. This also applies to some phone calls I make (except family and some close friends) - which sounds and indeed is exhausting, but it calms my mind that I have a control of the situation.

System

A friend of a friend (correctly) identified my brain process as full of if-else conditions. I have thought about this far more than either of those two after the statement was made and I was surprised on how apt it was considering he only knew me for a few hours. I am not saying I am a person who believes everything is black and white. On the contrary, I feel nothing is black and white and everything is a shade of gray but there is an intrinsic id-else conditions for most of my thoughts, plans and well - life. The only difference here would be I feel, but I am known to trump feelings with logic a lot of times.
